Checking out the source of the 'Boven Slinge' river, which starts about 20 kms from Ukatani, around Winterswijk in the Achterhoek.  The Slinge here is just a natural creek, by the time it gets close to us it is canalised dammed and flood controlled. An old water mill on the Slinge Letting the creeks flow naturally, no bridge or culvert drain, just let it flood.

 It's been 75 years, but the Dutch have not forgotten Schoolchildren care for the many memorials in the area, with much respect and reverence.
