Forget about the flying simulator, or racing cars or bikes.....over here you can simulate farming.

'Blowin' coal', with open exhaust, from Belgium

Image
The Belgies do it differently than the Dutch..Cloggies...here they try to make the engines as soundproof as possible and roll and plastic wrap the bales. (The Belgies are considered 'Red Necks', ) Da boys race their tractors through town with open pipes and smokin' coal all the way. The 'Greenies,' in Netherlands would shit. Time for the 'Winter Horn' again

Image
Here's the link for the video https://www.gelderlander.nl/achterhoek/dolde-roop-vanaf-grote-hoogte-in-zieuwent-midwinterhoornblazers-op-achterhoekse-kathedraal~ae23c6f1/ .  The Ziewent cathedral is just a few KMs up bike path. Winter horns are not very musical.  I should break out my conch horn from the Bahamas and give them a blast on that. I posted on the winter horn in Varsseveld in December 2018, and 2019...I'll see if I can find it and repost.   http://ukatani.blogspot.com/search?q=Winter+horn

Grand Prix F1 is a big deal in Netherlands + controversial results

Image
and Dutch national, Max Verstappen, pipped Englishman Lewis Hamilton on the last lap to controversially win the championship.  Mercedes is protesting the Red Bull win.  The final race of the season was held in Abu Dhabi and both drivers had equal points. I think that the whole of the Netherlands watched the race live on TV and internet and there was a large Dutch contingent in attendace in Abu Dhabi There were no cars on the roads in our area during the race. Our beloved English Ex sister in-law Tanya was  lucky enough to attend the race, live in Abu Dhabi.  It was combined with an arranged cruise ship visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.  Compliments of rich companion, who is a total 'Gearhead' and Grand Prix nut.  Titbits Monday, the day after.  Two protests by Mercedes rejected and controversy rages on.  https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17025782/hamilton-slams-f1-chiefs-manipulating-title-verstappen/ .  https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17017269/lewis-hamilton-max-verstappen-f1-world-t

Netherlands vs Denmark.

There are many comparisons and similarities, but Netherlands is way ahead when it comes to to urban planning and infrastructure. Link to video https://youtu.be/HjzzV2Akyds

Dutch roundabout design, safer for bicycles ?

52° North. Do we ride our bikes enough?

Image
Especially our EBikes? Research has shown that  average e-bike riders don't get much exercise  at all. If you are trying to maintain your health by riding an assisted bicycle then you will possibly not get much benefit unless you turn the assistance down and also ride much more than 5000 km a year. If you ride less than that distance then you could consider turning off the motor altogether. Otherwise you can expect less of a health benefit than would result from riding a 100% human powered bike.  Hard to ride daily in these cold, dark winter conditions....it's just not enjoyable  Miss M is rigging up and walking 10k steps a day.  I can't walk very far so I go indoor swimming  3x week. Here's the link to the site... http://www.aviewfromthecyclepath.com/2017/12/cyclings-recommended-minimum-daily.html .  A lot of information and outside links on this site, roam around and check out a few topics.
