Photos by Maarten In the town of Groenlo.  Groenlo is an old city and was fortified by moats surrounding the town. Most have a central church with steeple, but upkeep and maintenance is forcing many old churches to convert to apartments. But, very cosy inside....

Bicycle notes from Amsterdam.... The Dutch grow up on bicycles and there are very few accidents, either with other bicycles or cars, as everyone knows the rules and planning has separated the bikes from the cars and made it very efficient. A little video... https://youtu.be/G4qgzsaNN7s .  Check out some of the other videos from this poster and the YouTube sidebar Titbits:- The Dutch also like their beer... more so in the Achterhoek. ( It's got nothing to do with bicycles.) They banned the beer bike tours around Amsterdam streets, pedal powered of course Banned after years of complaints

Now living in a climate with four seasons......Getting ready for winter. We have a gas fired boiler for hydronic under floor heating, keeps the tile floors warm and we turned it on s couple of weeks ago. Also have a wood pellet heating stove in the living area. Dump a 12.5 kg bag of wood pellets in the hopper and it automatically auger feeds the pellets into the burner box where is thermostatically maintains set temperature. Little maintenance, other than vacuuming pellet ash daily. But once a year it needs a little TLC to maintain seals, flue etc.
