Maarten's friend came to visit, bringing her own bike on the train. (Bikes ride free on trains on weekends in a special compartment) She has the latest Sparta ebike M8 and they made a 45 km bike trip in our area. Small manufacturing plant in the hamlet is installing skylights.....look at that sky. The crane will only be onsite for a few days.

Maarten in Heelweg, rigging the double ebike carrier to explore further from home. With the rise in seniors using ebikes for recreational travel in NL, car carriers that attach to the ball towing hitch are used and normally carry two bikes. Ebikes are heavier than normal manual bikes and harder to lift onto carriers, or roof The detachable registration plate, turn signal and brake lights are all  incorporated in the rack. We scour 2nd hand shops, Thrift shops and charity shops for used bargains and got this practically new rack for €20, new €200. Ripper, that is his 20 yr old Mazda 323, still in really good shape.

The vanes of 'De 'Engel' mill are turning again in Varsseveld

See older post of repairs that were started when we were there in November Windmill restoration, November 30th, 2018. The vanes of mill De Engel turn safely again VARSSEVELD - Mill de Engel in Varsseveld is fully operational again.  Wicks and mills turn again and grind grain for home bakers and other enthusiasts.  The windmill stood still for a year and a half because of a safety problem with the blades.
