Government can not mandate crop harvest.  It will always vary due to many local factors.

National Pee Day and Dutch Dunnies

Image
Ever heard of a National Pee Day, me neither. Dunnies are different in the Netherlands and finding a public whizzer can be difficult to find and not free. Not too much of a problem for an old bloke on a bike on a bike trail but can become an emergency if in town or village. It's not just a 'guy' ting, it's much more difficult for the feminine contingent. Now, about those Dutch bathrooms and Dutch Dunnies.....

Heelweg, getting back to outdoor events

Image
We live in horse country and International Equestrian Events are held at the event centre 'de Radstake', which is only a couple of open farm fields from us at 'Ukatani'.   De Radstake was/is a historical old inn and meeting place at the junction of an old trade route and has been operating for hundreds of years. It now has several restaurants, a nightclub, an equestrian centre and dance hall, for weddings and meetings. Titbits:-. DeRadstake  https://www.radstake.nl/ .

26° North....... Renewable Natural Gas..US perspective

Image
This is  Interesting for me as we presently heat house, hydronically, using natural gas fired boiler to supply hot water to underfloor coils and wall radiators. Dutch not permitting new natural gas connections to new construction and supposed to phase out NG by 2130. There have been several attempts by local farmers in our area to produce biogas from cow/pig/chicken shit/food waste/sewage, but the NIMBYs and the Greenies block every and all efforts. The infrastructure, the distribution and supply pipelines are all in place and in use in NL.   Titbits :-. Read the rest of the article here, if interested. Maybe Renewable Natural Gas is not the answer. https://cleantechnica.com/2021/09/16/renewable-natural-gas-is-the-ultimate-red-herring/
