Remembrance Day 04/05 May, the 75th anniversary
The Dutch are still very respectful and are celebrating the 75th anniversary of liberation from the German invasion and occupation by allied troops on 04 May 1945. (US/Canadian/British)
There are lots of memorials around here that are maintained by volunteers and schoolchildren.
Flags flown at half mast and at 2000 hrs the country stopped, saluted and played tribute. See videos below.

Usually there are military parades that honour surviving veterans who come from US/UK/Canada, but there are not many left after 75 years and no large group celebrations because of the virus lock down this year.
Don White, a Canadian we met at Long Bay on Abaco is a veteran of that campaign
but was not able to come this year
Brings a tear to me eye and a lump in me throat.
