Sunnies, Sweetpeas and bumblebees....Ukatani 52° North

The bees love sunnies. These are bumble bees. I think that they nest in holes in the ground in small colonies. and only live for about a month.  There are several bumble bee species in our area.

Marjo grew several varieties, from sprouted birdseed and named dwarf varieties

The Sweetpeas smell heavenly and make wonderful cut flowers inside.

Saving seed for next year.

Neighbours farm. Dutch trying to improve bee, insect, butterfly population.  Farmers subsidised if they plant 10% of fields in flowers.  So they plant the edges of the corn or grain fields with flowers
