Why Dutch bikes are better for transportation
This is a Dutch, 'Granny bike'. Simple, sturdy, comfortable, last forever.
We have electric assist, ebikes, cause we live in the country and travel farther distances than city dwellers.
Some households use a granny or an old clunker to ride and park at the train station or bus stop.
Every house or apartment in Netherlands must have offstreet parking for 2 bicycles.
