Achterhoek flag........and new drink.

The Achterhoek  (back corner) area of the Netherlands, where we live is unique.

The Achterhoekers have their own distinct language, dialect, customs and ideas.
One of the biggest events of the year is a 3 day festival called 'Black Cross'.
It was originally an international Motorcross event that morphed into a big festival and party, with many bands and crazy stunts and races, much like the 'Burning Man' festival in the states.
It is sponsored by local Grolsh beer company and they Achterhoekers love their own beer.
In 2018 Grolsch sponsored a competition for a local Achterhoek flag ( it is not official) and it has taken off here with flags and every spinoff product that you can stick a flag on.

The flag has really taken off and design is free to ise on products, so now there are, flags, caps, socks, beanies, flu masks, stickers.

Some of the local blokes are making a new schnapps, from Rhubarb, with the Acherthoek flag logo.
