WE'VE BEEN PIRATED
A friend's son lives and works in Nassau and is 6 ' 4". He knows Marjolein's artwork and sent this pic of a huge print of Marjolein's original painting on display in the Margaritaville hotel.
One of Marjolein's very early Abaco originals and was 36"x 24", titled 'Abaco Cats'
The original was sold and M made and sold many prints. She has not sold any reproduction rights. We have never seen her work reproduced in such a large size. There is no acknowledgement, or link to the artist or the source.
Apparently there are 2 of her images in public areas, that have been reproduced in a very large format and we don't know what may be being sold in the gift sho, or decorating other public areas or guest rooms.
Supplying hotel art can be very lucrative.
Knowing the art reproduction business we suspect that that to get such a large image, the original would have to be scanned or they have a very high quality digital image.
We would like to turn this into a positive experience and think that Jimmy Buffett should comp us and fly us to Nassau to investigate.
